Sotty Sot was created by me, Emily, in a Year 11 Chemistry class. As usual, I was completely bored, and I didn't understand a thing, so I flipped my notebook to the back page and started doodling.
My friend Louise had drawn a "Boxer" cartoon, very similar to the Sotty, and this was what my drawing was inspired by (you can still see the Boxer drawings on the Wallpapers page).
I drew a cartoon horse based on lovely little Sooty at Dovecote Farm (a 15.3hh, 17-year-old mare). Sooty is a little on the fat side with huge hooves, and long legs - I think she might be part-Friesian - so the golf ball and stick leg design was decided for me!
I drew the Sooty cartoon on my computer, and decided to name it "SottySot" (though she's sometimes called Sot, Sots, or Sotty) and wanted to use her on TP. I think she's a fun way to narrate the site, and she now has a whole shop of stuff bearing her image. Here's to her successful reign! Heehee.
